Ranbir Kapoor is tensed on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil row, says Ayan Mukherjee

Director Ayan Mukherjee has said that his close friend Actor Ranbir Kapoor is worried about the controversy surrounding the release of his upcoming romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Owing to its casting of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, the movie has drawn ire of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena which has threatened to stall its release in theatres, slated during Diwali on October 28

“Ranbir is tensed, everyone is worried about how things are unfolding. He is hoping for the best,” Ayan told reporters here at the opening of 18th  MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival. Actress Richa Chaddha also voiced her support for the Karan Johar-directed film.
“If one film could finish terrorism, we could have banned many other films earlier,” she said at the event. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today extended the Centre’s support to makers of the movie and assured security
to exhibitors amid threats by MNS.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been in the eye of controversy since the Uri attack last month, following which various sectors have been demanding a ban on Pakistani artists from working in India.
Last week, Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India announced it would not release movies featuring Pakistani artistes in four states of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and Karnataka.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has become the first target of those who are against the inclusion of Pakistani artistes in Indian films after the September 18 Uri attack which killed 19 Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack was followed by surgical attacks that India conducted across LoC.
The subsequent bilateral unrest between India and Pakistan had a spill over in film industries on both sides of the border. While the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) issued an ultimatum to Pakistani artistes to quit India, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association passed a resolution asking producers to avoid working with talent from Pakistan.

Sharman Joshi's hilarious cop-out

The actor got mistaken for the real deal on a film set.

Sharman Joshi may have just received the biggest stamp for approval there is for an actor. The 37-yearold actor who plays a cop in Vishal Pandya's upcoming crime-thriller Wajah Tum Ho was mistaken for the real deal by a bunch of youngsters as he shot for the film in Mumbai's Lokhandwala area a few weeks ago.

"We were shooting a nakabandi sequence at the back roads in the afternoon when three young guys on a bike approached us. My assistant was also dressed as a cop and I had my back towards them. They promptly proceeded to offer a bribe to the assis tant, concocting a sob story about why they weren't carrying a licence when I turned around. It soon dawned on them that it was a film set. The whole unit had a good laugh," Sharman told Mirror, adding that he escorted the hapless boys to their bike. "I told them, `You are going triple-seat. If you come across real cops, it's at your own risk,'" he laughed.
